Paint correction

Swirl marks, light scratches and dull, hazy paint don’t wash off — they’re in the clear coat. We machine-polish them out to bring back deep, clear gloss, then help you protect it.

Our guaranteeEvery job is backed by our workmanship and premium materials. If it’s not right, we make it right.

Why it matters

What correction fixes

Most paint damage lives in the top layer of clear coat. Polishing it level brings the finish back.

Swirl Marks

The spiderweb look you see in sunlight, usually from automatic car washes and dirty towels.

Light Scratches

Fine scratches and marring in the clear coat from everyday use.

Water Spots

Mineral etching left behind by hard water and sprinklers.

Oxidation & Haze

Dull, faded paint that has lost its depth to Colorado sun.

Deeper Gloss

Level paint reflects light cleanly, for a sharper, wetter-looking shine.

Coating-Ready Paint

The right foundation before a ceramic coating, so it locks in a flawless finish.

Levels of correction

Matched to your paint

Every vehicle is different, so we look at the paint first and quote it before we start.

The process

The correction process

01

Wash & Decon

A thorough wash, iron removal and clay-bar treatment so nothing gets dragged across the paint while polishing.

02

Inspect & Test

We inspect the paint under light, tape off trim and test a small area to find the gentlest approach that works.

03

Correct & Refine

The paint is machine-polished panel by panel, then refined for clarity and gloss.

04

Protect

We wipe the paint clean and protect it, ideally with a ceramic coating to lock in the result.

The details

What you should know

A wash, wax or detail cleans and shines the paint, but it can’t remove damage that’s in the clear coat. Swirl marks and light scratches catch the light and make even a clean car look tired. Paint correction removes a very thin layer of clear coat to level those defects out, so the paint reflects cleanly again.

It’s the best way to bring an older or neglected finish back, and the right first step before a ceramic coating. A coating seals in whatever is underneath it, so correcting first means you lock in a flawless finish, not the swirls.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is paint correction?

Paint correction is machine polishing that removes a very thin layer of clear coat to level out swirl marks, light scratches, water spots and oxidation. The result is paint that reflects light cleanly again, with real depth and gloss instead of a hazy, spiderwebbed look.

How much does paint correction cost?

It depends on the size of the vehicle, the condition of the paint and how far you want to take it. We look at the paint in person and give you a firm quote before any work starts.

Will it remove every scratch?

It removes swirl marks and scratches that sit in the clear coat. A scratch you can catch with a fingernail may have gone too deep to polish out safely. We check first and tell you honestly what will and won’t come out.

Should I get a ceramic coating after paint correction?

We recommend it. Correction makes the paint look its best, and a ceramic coating helps keep it that way by making the surface slicker, easier to wash and more resistant to new swirls.

Is paint correction safe for my paint?

Done properly, yes. We use the least aggressive approach that gets the result, and we test on a small area first so we remove only as much as the paint needs.

“Zach did a thorough and professional repair to the windshield of my 2019 Toyota RAV4 at a FRACTION of the cost I was quoted at Safelite. I will never go back to the “name brands” when an identical repair handled by an attentional-to-detail small-business is available. Very pleased!”

“My parents had their windows tinted at Adams Auto Restyling and highly recommended them, so I decided to bring my car in as well. Zach was great to work with and provided professional, high-quality service from start to finish. They tinted all the windows on my SUV, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. My vehicle looks sleek, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in heat and glare when driving in the sun. I was so impressed that I’ve already booked an appointment for a full interior and exterior detail, including a ceramic coating to restore the shine and protect the paint. Highly recommend!”
