What the extra money buys
Both films look sharp and block 99% of UV. The difference is how much heat stays out of the cab.

Why tint quotes differ
Vehicle Size
More glass and more complex windows take more film and time. SUVs and vans cost more than sedans and pickups.
Coverage
Two front doors, a full vehicle, or a windshield brow. Many trucks and SUVs only need the fronts to match factory rear glass.
Film Type
Carbon and ceramic are priced differently because ceramic keeps far more heat out of the cab.
Old Film
Bubbling or purple tint has to be removed and the glass prepped first, which adds time.
Add-Ons
A 5% windshield brow or a hydrophobic glass treatment are priced separately.
Install Quality
Clean glass, tight edges and a dust-controlled bay take time. That is where cheap installs cut corners.
Cheap tint vs. the right tint
When one tint quote is far lower than another, the difference is usually the film. Dyed film is the least expensive to buy and install, but the dye breaks down in the sun and can fade, bubble or turn purple. Metallic film rejects heat well but can interfere with phone, GPS and radio signal, and Colorado does not allow a mirrored look. We install only non-metallic carbon and ceramic films for those reasons.
Before comparing prices, ask three questions: what film brand and type is going on, how much infrared heat it rejects, and what the warranty covers. A $100 difference up front is small next to redoing a tint job that fails after a few summers.
Is ceramic worth it here? Colorado's altitude means stronger sun, and summer cabins get hot fast. Is ceramic tint worth the extra cost?
For most Colorado drivers who notice the heat, yes. Ceramic costs $50 to $70 more than carbon depending on coverage, and rejects up to 85% of infrared heat versus 65% for carbon. Both block 99% of UV. If you mainly want the look and UV protection on a budget, carbon is a strong choice.
Why do some shops charge less for tint?
Lower prices usually mean a different film, such as dyed film that can fade and turn purple over time, or less time spent on prep and edges. Ask what film is being installed, what it rejects, and what the warranty covers before comparing prices.
How much does it cost to tint just the front windows?
Two front doors start at $119 in Advanced Carbon and $169 in Premium Ceramic, and take about an hour and a half. It is a common choice for trucks and SUVs that already have factory-darkened rear glass. The shade still has to meet Colorado’s 27% limit for front side windows.
Does tint removal cost extra?
Yes. If your windows already have old, bubbling or purple film, it has to come off and the glass has to be prepped before new film goes on. Tell us when you request a quote and we will include removal in the price.
How long does window tint take?
About an hour and a half for two front doors, about three hours for a full sedan or pickup, and about three and a half hours for a full SUV, crossover or van.
