Silverado & Sierra leveling kits
The Silverado and Sierra share the same frame and front suspension, and both leave the factory with a nose-down rake. A leveling kit squares up the stance and opens room for a larger tire — installed to spec on 1500 and heavy-duty trucks, with the alignment set afterward.
Why Silverado and Sierra owners level
GM sets the front of the Silverado and Sierra lower than the rear so the truck sits level with weight in the bed or on the hitch. Unloaded, most of these trucks carry about two inches of rake. The exact number depends on the year, cab, bed and trim.
The half-ton 1500 trucks use coil-over front struts, so they are leveled with a strut spacer or leveling kit. The 2500HD and 3500HD use torsion bars in front, which are usually leveled with torsion keys instead. Knowing which you have is the first step to the right kit.
Not sure whether you want a level or a true lift? Read leveling kit vs. lift kit, or see everything we install on our lift and leveling page.
How we level a Silverado
Every truck is quoted individually. These are the setups we recommend most often.
Front leveling kit
A strut spacer or leveling kit raises the front of a Silverado 1500 or Sierra 1500 to roughly match the rear while keeping factory ride quality.
Torsion key leveling
On 2500HD and 3500HD trucks, leveling is usually done with torsion keys, set carefully so the front suspension keeps proper travel.
Leveling kit and larger tires
Pairs the level stance with a slightly taller tire. Size depends on the truck, wheel and offset, and we confirm fit first.
What to know about your Silverado
Factory-lifted trims
Some trims leave the factory with extra height or different shocks. Tell us the exact trim so we recommend a kit that suits it.
Free 500-mile torque check
After your first 500 miles, bring the truck back and we re-torque every bolt we touched during the install, at no charge.
Alignment afterward
Any change in ride height moves the front geometry, so we set the alignment after every install.

Silverado leveling FAQ
Do Silverado and Sierra trucks use the same leveling kit?
In most cases, yes. The Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra of the same year and weight class share their front suspension, so the same kits generally fit both. Trims with factory lifts or different shocks can be the exception.
How do you level a Silverado 2500HD or Sierra 2500HD?
Heavy-duty GM trucks use torsion bars in front, so they are usually leveled with torsion keys rather than strut spacers. The keys have to be set correctly to keep ride quality and suspension travel, which is why we set the alignment afterward.
How much lift does a Silverado 1500 leveling kit add?
Most Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 leveling kits raise the front around two inches. We recommend the height that levels your specific truck.
Will a leveling kit affect my warranty?
A properly installed, quality kit is a common upgrade, but warranty coverage is decided by the manufacturer and dealer for the specific part involved. We can recommend kits and installation practices that respect your factory warranty.
Do you check the install after I drive on it?
Yes. Every leveling install includes a complimentary 500-mile torque check. After about 500 miles, bring your truck back and we re-torque every bolt we touched during the install, at no charge.
How much does it cost to level my Silverado?
It depends on your year, trim and the kit you choose, so we quote each truck individually. Send us the details and we will give you a straight price, including the alignment, before any work begins.
